Our Teachers

All of our Music Together® teachers have passed a rigorous 25-hour training and practicum in order to become Registered Music Together Teachers. Every year, our teachers further their knowledge of child development, early childhood music development, and education strategies through ongoing professional development workshops. But most of all, our teachers know how to have a great time in class!

photo Anne Sailer

Director, West Essex Music Together. Anne (she/her/hers) is a lifelong music-maker who grew up with a mom who sang about everything...just because. Through her Music Together teaching, Anne helps parents and caregivers give their children the kind of musical childhood (and life!) that her mom gave to her. She has been teaching Music Together classes since 2004. Anne has achieved Music Together Certification Levels I and II and teaches all Music Together programs: Mixed-Ages, Babies-Only, Rhythm Kids®. She is also a Teacher Trainer and Workshop Leader for Music Together Worldwide. In addition, Anne leads workshops for parents, educators, and therapists on early childhood music development and using music to enrich the lives of children and families in all settings. In her spare time, Anne loves to make all kinds of things (in addition to music!): green gardens, yeasted bread, knitted scarves, fermented sauerkraut, pen-and-ink drawings, and more. She lives in Montclair, NJ with her husband and two adult children.

Amy Edelstein

Amy has been singing, dancing, and acting since she learned to talk. Coming from a musical family, she performed in professional theater as a teenager and went on to study at The Boston Conservatory of Music. After a career change, she became a psychotherapist and has been working to support and empower trauma survivors and postpartum parents for the past fifteen years. Amy discovered Music Together classes with her two boys, Cody and Jake and decided to get back to her roots. In her teaching, she weaves her therapeutic "attachment perspective" into every class, helping families leverage the power of music to create secrure bonds that last a lifetime. She is thrilled to teach, inspire, and make music with her family and yours!

Amy received her BA in Musical Theatre from American University, with a concentration in Theatre Education and Performing, directing shows and teaching classes at camps and in high school and after-school settings. She has enjoyed embodying a plethora of roles throughout college and beyond, including the National Tour of the children's book, "Are You My Mother", with NJ-based, ArtsPower. However, Amy's most favorite role to date is mom to her daughter Logan Rose. Amy believes that there is nothing like the true joy in witnessing someone hearing music or seeing theatre for the first time and falling in love with it, just as she had done so many years ago. When she's not teaching, you can find Amy involved in events all over the tri-state area in her role as the Director of Special Events for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation. She hopes that you enjoy her classes as much as she enjoys teaching them!!

Christine Brendel

Christine owned a successful business in Bloomfield for 20 years before deciding to follow her true passion for children and music. She was a Music Together mom for for eight years with her two sons (now teenagers!) and was drawn to the path of leading children through their first musical experiences. Christine has been teaching Music Together since 2005. She is fun, playful, and a natural leader with a gift for working with children--but she is totally serious about the power music plays in a young child's life! Chris lives in North Caldwell with her husband, Bob, and their two sons, Luke and Sam.
